Kitchen In Progress

This fireplace centered in the room between the kitchen and living area can really make the space seem small. Taking out the fireplace will really open up the room and make the space seem a lot bigger, and can make it more functional for a family that spends a lot of time gathered in the kitchen.

Even with the remodel still in progress you can already see how much more open room is. The big windows on the wall also allow a lot of sunlight into the room and without the fireplace blocking the light it makes the whole room a lot brighter.

Its so fun to see the transformations made to a home with a remodel, it can really breathe new life into your living area.

The kitchen is an important room in any home, as the average American family can spend 175 hours a month in the kitchen and only 31 hours in the living room. There have been a lot of new trends in kitchen remodels geared toward making the kitchen a highly functional room. Things like the increasingly popular ‘soft close’ drawers and doors on kitchen cabinets have become more of a must than a luxury. A few other popular remodel trends include pulls out drawers partitioned to house cans for trash and recycling to keep the cans out of sight and yet easily accessible, floor to ceiling cabinets to add extra storage space and beautiful glass tile back splashes. Another new trend is using quartz counter tops over the highly popular granite as the quartz is less expensive and much lower maintenance.
